Serious Youth Violence and Knife Crime

We are aware that there has been an increase in media attention on knife crime and serious youth violence, particularly as there have been incidents in the Greater Bristol area that you may be aware of.

We work with our local partners; Children’s Services, the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP), the Police, Youth Services, etc, to try to prevent young people getting involved in youth violence, but also to address concerns when they arise. Recently, we worked with a multi-agency team who delivered the Blunt Truth project to our year 9 students.

We work locally within our Trust schools to support our students around this topic which includes awareness raising, ways to report concerns, support for students who may be involved or on edge of involvement.  We’d like to offer advice to parents if they are concerned about their own child/ren.  For more information, please visit the South Glos Children’s Partnership: Child Exploitation - information for parents and carers | SafeguardingSouth Gloucestershire Safeguarding
