Information for travelling students
One or more of your lessons may be based at Abbeywood if you have selected subjects that are in the travel blocks. Below are answers to common questions you may have:
Where do I go once I get off of the bus?
You will get off of the bus at the top of the Abbeywood School boulevard on New Road. If your bus arrives after 8.28am then the gates to the school will be closed. If this is the case, you need to continue walking in the direction of Parkway Station and enter the site through the Engineering Centre - this is the building after City of Bristol College. It is well signposted and you will need to access the gate via the car park. You can use your existing ID badge to gain entry. If you have any problems, press the bell.
Where will my lessons take place?
The Abbeywood site has 3 buildings which may be referenced on your timetable:
- The Engineering Centre - rooms will start EG, EF, or ES (eg EG30, EF19, or ES06)
- The Olympus Building - rooms that start OG or OF (eg OG1 or OF4)
To get to the main school building, head from the Engineering Centre and walk down the boulevard, past the astro pitch and bike sheds, and follow the path round. The Olympus Building is on your right and clearly signposted. - Main school - rooms that start with G, F, or S (eg G05, F03, or S02)
To get to the main school building, follow the same directions as for the Olympus Building but turn left instead of right.

How do I sign in?
As you enter the Engineering Centre there is a sign in book specifically for travelling students. Please ensure that you sign in and out as appropriate, so that we know where you are at all times.
Where can I go if I have time before/after my lesson?
There are study spaces and a Post 16 Common Room on the top floor of the Engineering Centre.
In addition, there is a Post 16 study space above the library at the main school building.
