Hera

I’m Mr Gingell and this is my 1st year being Head of Hera House. I am honoured to lead Hera House in our hunt for the 2025 house championship.

At Hera House, we take pride in fostering a community that thrives on shared values and a commitment to excellence. Our foundation is built upon four core values: confidence, respect, ambition, and resilience. These principles guide every member of Hera, shaping a vibrant and supportive environment where everyone can flourish. Being a Head of House is a job like no other. I regularly find myself taking part in fun, challenging and sometimes utterly ridiculous competitions! Our students are encouraged to express themselves and aim high in all they do, whether it’s competing in house days, displaying their sporting ability on sports day or showcasing their skills in ethos competitions. We also take part in weekly lunch/break time competitions to keep the spirit of fun and friendly rivalry alive throughout the year.

Hera House was successful in multiple events during the 2024 championship. We secured victory in House Day 2 and Sports Day showcasing our drive and passion in anything we compete in. “A winning mindset can transform an underdog into a champion”. The quote I shared to the Hera House this year during our first assembly outlines the goal for this year. Changing the way, we see ourselves is the first step toward achieving greatness. We are no longer here to just compete or surprise others—we are here to dominate, to set the standard, and to become champions. Being an underdog has taught us resilience and the value of hard work. Now, it’s time to combine that grit with a winning mentality.

Hera house will approach every competition expecting to win, not hoping to. We have set ambitious goals, committed to excellence, and we back ourselves at every step. Champions are not just made over night—they are forged in the mind over time.

Leading Hera House means not only fostering success but also celebrating our shared values and creating memories that will last a lifetime. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this incredible journey.
