Abbeywood Community School

Antibullying

At Abbeywood Community School we proactively work to challenge and prevent any bullying within school, online and outside of school.

The way we do this is by following our Anti-Bullying Charter, using our 5 Step Process.  This process helps us establish whether it is a friendship or bullying issue, each report recorded is triaged by our DDSL and allocated to an appropriate keyworker.

Students have several ways to report:

  • in person to a trusted adult, either parent/carer or an adult in school
  • fill in a form and pop it in the post box, outside the Safeguarding Office
  • to an Anti-Bullying Ambassador, via the daily drop-ins
  • via their student portal
  • via the Anti-Bullying reporting button on the school website

Our Student Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, whom have all been trained by The Diana Award, also form an important part in supporting both victims and perpetrators.  They provide support and advice, as well as daily drop-ins and continuously help in raising awareness.
