Enrichment Week Information

I am pleased to inform you that during the week of Monday 10 July – Friday 14 July 2017, students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will take part in the school’s Curriculum Enrichment Programme.

Curriculum Enrichment is an important and rewarding week during the school year as it is a chance for students to take charge of their learning journey, to challenge themselves with new experiences, work alongside their peers in different year groups, and further develop positive relationships between students and staff.

There is a fantastic range of in-school and collaborative projects on offer this year for those students who are not attending a residential trip.   Students will be able to opt for trips and paid activities or follow the free in-school programme.

Enrichment Week is a reward and opportunity for students who have consistently made a concerted effort throughout the year and have engaged positively in school life.  It is important to note that students who are given more than 40 behaviour points over the 2016/17 academic year will not be allowed to take part in the programme. A significant one off behaviour incident may also affect a student’s eligibility to take part. Also students who do not act appropriately according to the school’s behaviour policy during their Project Themed Programme will not be eligible for the Friday Fun Day Activity.

Year 7 Enrichment Program

Students in Year 7 will take part in 'Reach for the Edge' from Monday to Wednesday. They will select either a residential, day trip or school-based activity to give them a personal challenge and the opportunity to develop team building and communication skills. On Thursday all Year 7 students will participate in a PiXL Edge day where students are given opportunities to attain credits towards their Apprentice level PiXL Edge Award. On the Friday students will be rewarded with a 'Fun Day' where they get to choose from a variety of fun activities that are either based in school or a day trip.

Year 8, 9 and 10 Enrichment Program

This year we have adapted our programme to encourage students to explore something they are truly passionate about. Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 will embark on a 'Project Themed Programme' from Monday 10 July to Thursday 13 July. They will have the opportunity to choose an interest and develop their knowledge and skills within this subject. This can be done whilst travelling abroad, residential trips or taking part in local activities. On the Friday students are able to select a different ' Fun Day' option.
