Bristol Old Vic (8 images)

12 of our Talented Drama students from Years 8, 9 and 10 have been working with Angela Athay-Hunt, a Youth Theatre director from the Bristol Old Vic as part of the COMPANY program for schools. After several months of after school weekly workshops we descended into the Theatre on a lovely sunny Sunday morning to get ready for the final performance. The play, devised by the students with Ange, was inspired by the theme of “Everything is Political”. We were really proud of their performance and to see our students perform with such confidence on the stage of the oldest working theatre in the country was fantastic. Well done to all of them and to Parents and Friends who supported the students.

Year 10 RAISE day (21 images)

On Monday 6 March, Year 10 took part in a ‘Raising Aspirations’ RAISE day. Normal timetables were collapsed for the day and the students took part in a programme designed to prepare them for job interviews in the working world, increase their understanding of the options available to them after Year 11 and build confidence in working in teams and speaking to professionals. Volunteers from Carillion and local businesses, including the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice, were kind enough to give up their time to interview the students. For the students, a thoroughly enjoyable, slightly nerve wracking day! Plenty of positive feedback from the volunteers. Well done Year 10!
