Equality

The Equality Duty ensures that the Olympus Academy Trust and its schools consider the needs of individuals in the day to day work, in shaping policies and delivering an effective education to all the students. Services, employment practices and activities must be appropriate and accessible to all. School leaders, directors and governors must always consider the impact of their actions and decisions on different people.

The Trust and its schools must have due regard to the need to:

  • eliminate unlawful discrimination - harassment, victimization or any other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010;
  • advance equality of opportunity; and
  • foster good relations - between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.

The Trust aims to remove or minimize disadvantage, meet needs, encourage participation, tackle prejudice and discrimination and promote equality of opportunity.
